Have you ever contemplated how, as humans, we tend to view ourselves as separate from nature?
When the truth is we are made of the very same stuff as the earth, the stars and the universe! đ«đđ€Ż
Itâs an illusion, noted by Einstein as âa kind of optical delusion of consciousnessâ, that alienates us from our world.
Like a veil of amnesia it has us forgetting our inherent belonging, our incredible capacity for transformation and how to fully inhabit this precious life.
You know belonging, transformation and life all have something fundamental in common: they all operate in a cyclical fashion đ
Without others, to what circle would we belong?
Like the caterpillar who becomes a butterfly, without each essential stage of the cycle there would be no transformation
Without the cycle of birth, death and rebirth? No life.
Cycle.
Now this is the element of our personal nature we find ourselves most distanced from by our linear process focussed, productivity addicted culture.
(You know, the one that has us trying to prove our worth at every turn đđ).
Now let’s be real, quantifying and measuring things is a useful tool – how else am I going to manage my finances or set my alarm? But the over emphasis on this finds us on a collective unconscious tangent away from the whole.
Autumn always brings this imbalance acutely to my awareness.
As the productivity of summerâs height gives way to the season of decay part of me panics.
How will I get everything done?
Will there be enough time?
Why am I not as productive as I was in summer? (Judgemental-ness in full flow)
In other words, who will I be if Iâm not doing something?
If I let go into the decay and darkness that autumn beckons, will I still exist?
Is it safe to drop my leaves?
Will I still be loved?
When we slow down everything we’ve been running from is right there for us to look at. And in noticing that we have a choice, to go within and learn to heal, or to go without and keep running.
Whilst itâs uncomfortable to meet our fractured parts and tend them it’s the only way personal transformation can happen.
And aligning with these Autumnal energies of letting go holds the most potent opportunities for growth đ
Because letting go of the old has everything to do with making way for whatâs to come.
We don’t always know what that will be, but if you’re doing the healing labour you can be sure it will be something beautiful and for your highest good.
Remember, the timeline isn’t in your control. It requires trust, a trusting of the universe. And that requires a relinquishing, a letting go of control.
Autumn, the horses, the animals, the trees and the land have so much to teach us here đŽđđ
The art of letting go, slowing down, entering the darkness and discovering who we are beyond âdoingâ (the achieving of measurable outcomes).
It reunites us with the cyclical element of our nature.
No time in history has this art and invisible science been more important.
With artificial intelligence showing us that machines have the (greater) capacity to process data and âdoâ, weâre being invited to understand who we are on a level deeper than that which we can measure.
âIf itâs measurable, itâs probably not too important.â BrenĂ© Brown
This beckons in the age and rise of feel.
Do you remember that âPricelessâ advert run by MasterCard? It’s what can be felt – qualified by the human heart – yet is unquantifiable by the intellect that feeds the web of connection, meaning, depth and richness in our lives.
We all sense this on some level and yet time and time again we get caught in the mental maze – that over identification with linear thinking born of a mind disconnected from the greater whole. And it’s ok, it’s a natural part of our evolution. But something more is possible âš
So what is true? What is real? What do we want to see reflected in our world?
To answer those questions we need tools that reunite the mind with the wholeness of who we are.
We need body.
âOur bodies know that they belong; it is our minds that make our lives so homelessâ John Oâ Donohue
Body.
Keeper of natural rhythm.
Anchor to the now.
Knower of cycles.
Both creator and partaker.
“The longest journey you will ever take is the 18 inches from your head to your heartâ Thich Nhat Hanh
So many of us are taking this journey now. And I am cheering us ALL on as we each take little steps in this direction đ
The pain of reintegrating the lost fragments of self and healing the woundings of past is worth every drop of freedom afforded by engaging in the transformative cycle of healing. A process that involves a reclamation of the full capacity of what it is to be human.
Only out of cycle does true progress emerge.
Remember how this incredible world evolved?
âPlanet Earth was molten rock; now it sings opera!â Brain Swimme
No one person willed that to happen. Natureâs cycles did that. Itâs that powerful!
So the invitation this season is to take a leaf out of natureâs book.
Allow yourself to slow down, listen to the natural rhythm of your body. Nurture those wounded parts that keep your foot on the accelerator of your life.
What do you want to let go of that no longer serves you and needs releasing to the earth?
Like the leaves of the trees, can you allow them to fall and make way for the next greatest thing?
Hereâs to your courageous unfolding,
Ruby & the Horses â„ïž
